Diwali pooja is performed as blessed puja in regarding to worship all Hindu religion deities. Sacrifices, offerings and prayers are presented to the all deities. Mostly all deities are worshipped but Maa Lakshmi is the chief deity on Diwali puja in the whole universe.
All ceremonies of Diwali are performed with ritualistic pattern and in honor to the deities such as Lord Ganesh-the prime deity, Maa Lakshmi, God Shiva, Kalsa, Nine Planets. Special foods are offered to the deities that are called as “Naivedhya”.
The tiny lamps are lighted at home. It is said that it removes all the shadows of evil spirits and spreads the light in our life. As Goddess is the deity of wealth and prosperity, Purana says that this day Maa Lakshmi comes in the houses and gives the blessing to everyone for wealth.
